The 4 Types of Launches: A Breakdown of My Launch Crew Strategy

After wrapping up my latest Launch Crew launch, I wanted to break down exactly what worked, what I did differently, and how you can apply these strategies to your own launches.

I experimented with a conversation launch this time around—meaning I didn’t share the sales link publicly but instead had direct conversations with potential buyers. Spoiler: It worked really well.

So, let’s talk about the four types of launches you can use, and why the conversation launch was a game-changer for me.

1. Content Launch

A content launch relies on organic content to attract buyers. The only interaction between you and the audience happens through your posts, stories, and emails.

How It Works:

✔️ Post valuable content that naturally leads to your offer. ✔️ Use storytelling and social proof to build interest. ✔️ Offer urgency through early-bird discounts, bonuses, or limited-time enrollments. ✔️ Works well for digital products, courses, and memberships.

Best For:

  • Entrepreneurs who want a low-touch, automated sales process.
  • Those with an engaged email list or social following.

2. Mini Offer Launch

A mini offer launch involves selling a low-ticket paid or free offer as a way to introduce potential buyers to your main program.

Examples:

✔️ A 3-day Voxer challenge with a small fee. ✔️ A paid workshop series that provides a taste of your main offer. ✔️ A free or low-cost masterclass that ends with a pitch.

Why It Works:

💡 Prepares potential buyers by giving them a taste of your expertise. 💡 Filters for serious buyers who are ready to invest. 💡 Generates revenue while building trust before the main launch.

Best For:

  • Course creators and coaches who want highly engaged leads.
  • Business owners who want to earn while they sell.

3. Consult Call Launch

If you offer high-ticket coaching or services, your launch should focus on getting people onto free consult calls rather than selling directly.

How It Works:

✔️ You market a free discovery call or strategy session. ✔️ On the call, you determine if they’re a good fit. ✔️ You present your private coaching or service offer.

Why It Works:

📞 Personalized connection = higher conversion rates. 📞 You filter out non-ideal clients and only accept the right people. 📞 Perfect for those selling 1:1 services or high-touch programs.

Best For:

  • Coaches, consultants, and service providers selling high-ticket offers.
  • Anyone who prefers personal connection over automated sales.

4. Conversation Launch (The Strategy I Used for Launch Crew!)

A conversation launch is DM-based—meaning instead of sharing a public sales page, you only send the link to those who ask for it.

What I Did:

✔️ Offered free strategy help in my IG stories (ex: “DM me your next launch, and I’ll send you a custom strategy”). ✔️ Used gentle invites (ex: “DM me ‘Launch Crew’ if you’re curious about this group!”). ✔️ Opened my DMs to answer questions and provide support. ✔️ Only sent the invitation PDF with program details to those who engaged in conversations with me.

Why It Worked So Well:

💬 Personalized conversations build trust quickly. 💬 Filtered out non-ideal clients, so only serious buyers reached out. 💬 No pressure sales environment, which made people feel safe asking questions. 💬 Felt natural, fun, and stress-free!

Why Having a Strong Filter Matters

A key reason my conversation launch worked is because I had clear filters for who this offer was for: ✔ They had to have launched at least once before (so they had data to refine). ✔ They had to be planning a launch within 6 months (so they could immediately implement what they learned).

Filters help clarify your messaging, create exclusivity, and ensure the right people join.

Final Thoughts: Pick the Right Launch Type for You

Each launch type serves a different purpose, and the right one for you depends on your offer, your audience, and your energy.

Want low-effort selling? Go for a content launch.

Want to attract buyers quickly? Use a mini offer launch.

Selling high-ticket coaching? Use a consult call launch.

Want deep engagement & effortless sales? Try a conversation launch.
