If your messaging isn’t working, here’s what’s likely happening:

✔ Your audience doesn’t know who you help or what you do. ✔ Your content is too vague and lacks clear, action-driven statements. ✔ You’re not positioning yourself as a leader in your niche. ✔ Your audience doesn’t see how your offer solves their urgent problem.

2. Step Into Leadership: Own Your Authority in Your Content

To attract the right clients, you need to position yourself as a leader. That means confidently stating what you do, how you do it, and why your approach works.

✔ Speak directly to the problem your dream client is facing. ✔ Share bold opinions and unique perspectives (even if some people disagree!). ✔ Explain your proven process for getting results. ✔ Use phrases like “Here’s why this matters” and “This is the mistake most people make.”

  2. Transformation: What changed for you? What realization did you have?
  3. After: What’s different now? How did you overcome that challenge?
  4. Your Process: What’s the exact method or framework you now use to help others do the same?

Your before-and-after story is what makes you relatable and magnetic. The clearer your transformation, the more people will want to work with you.

 

4. Chocolate vs. Broccoli Messaging: Sell What They Want, Deliver What They Need

One of the biggest mistakes coaches make? Selling the broccoli.

Broccoli = The thing your client needs, but doesn’t know they want.

Example: "I’ll help you stop people-pleasing." (Sounds nice, but isn’t urgent.)

Chocolate = The thing they’re actively looking for.

Example: "I’ll help you stop feeling resentment in your marriage and communicate your needs clearly." (Much more compelling!)

People buy based on what they crave, not what they “should” do. Your job is to package the transformation in a way that speaks to their urgent desire.

Identify their biggest frustration. What keeps them up at night? ✔ Use their own language. How do they describe their struggle? ✔ Make it tangible. What specific moment in their life does this show up?

The clearer and more specific your messaging, the more effortlessly you’ll attract the right people.
